What the milestone means

The 2015 recognition matters because it acknowledged locally developed thinking focused on a real operational need.

It sits within a broader history of engineering work that began globally in 2008 and took root in Sri Lanka in 2012. The underlying idea was practical: physical operations need a dependable digital record of what moved, changed, was completed or required attention.

That direction has continued to evolve through OCTO Ops and Flatorb’s work across software, RFID, barcode, IoT, GPS, AI and systems integration.
